Edmonds
Community College has partnered with the Washington State
HTCIA, donating meeting space and resources for 2008. This is
the third year of sponsorship.
We send a heartfelt
THANK YOU to the college president, Jack Oharah, as well as
the EdCC board members. Your foresight in understanding the
importance of the HTCIA to our community will allow us to be
a driving force to further educate those with the responsibility
of combating high tech crime, and will also allow us to educate
our citizens to help prevent them from becoming victims.
Edmonds Community
College was one of the first colleges in the state to offer
comprehensive training in
digital forensics and information security, and remains
a leader in these fields.
As a true leader
in the community, the college offers
no-cost training and lectures to the public on a variety
of topics including identity theft, home computer security,
and Internet safety for teens and children.
The information
security and digital forensics labs that the HTCIA members will
be able to take advantage of at EdCC are equipped with custom
built forensic workstations. Members will be able to use a comprehensive
suite of tools and industry standard forensic software such
as AccessData's Forensic ToolKit, Guidance Software's EnCase,
and X-Ways Forensics. Hardware write blockers and toolkits needed
to forensically process cell phones and Personal Digital Assistants
will be available as well.
