The use
of cell phones and personal digital assistants is increasing
- 825 million cell phones were sold last year. With expanded
memories, increasingly sophisticated organizer tools and sharper
cameras, call phones and PDA’s are playing ever larger roles
in the lives of almost everyone - including criminals. Drug
dealers, rapists, murderers, and white collar criminals across
the country have been caught based, at least partly, on the
evidence extracted from cellular phones and personal digital
assistants.
Following
the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
guidelines, this comprehensive course will teach the forensic
analyst the current best methods for acquisition and analysis
of evidence and artifacts from cellular phones and handheld
devices. This course was developed by CyberSecurity Institute
and has been instructed for military personnel performing
forensic analysis in the Mideast.
